Intrinsic?

Yesterday, I encountered another podcaster* saying:

“The evil people are the minority. The good people are the majority ... . [T]he majority of people are actually intrinsically good. We’re not intrinsically evil.”

So these are the questions I posed to this podcaster in her comment section; (questions I also ask of all other like-minded believers in “intrinsic goodness”):

Candace, if “people are intrinsically good” (circa min. 58):

• Why are the scriptures a litany of lamentation rather than praise?

• Why did Paul say:
   14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (New Testament | 1 Corinthians 2:14)?

• Why did Christ say:
   13 ¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
   14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (New Testament | Matthew 7:13–14, bea)?

• What if mankind is neither intrinsically good or evil, but a potential to be tried, tested, proven, and purified through repentance and Christ's atonement according to their choices?
   10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold (Old Testament | Job 23:10).
   9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God (Old Testament | Zechariah 13:9).

• What if your assessment that The Stanford Prison Experiment (SPE) “obviously was a complete act to justify those sadistic perverts to do whatever they want to do around the world” is premature and false? Students of the SPE know it did not excuse evil, but rather proved how prone we humans are to do or condone evil; how soon power corrupts us. The findings of the SPE have been observed over and over. Read “Ordinary Men.” Remember “Abu Gharib”? “My Lai”? “The Phoenix Program”? The Stanley Milgram Experiment (SME) and its derivatives in other nations? And on and on. The SPE and SME are WARNINGS, not excuses or justifications for evil. Please do not disparage a warning that every human should take to heart: a heads-up on how easily we abuse power; how easily the less powerful can be co-opted into doing or condoning evil. We are witnessing it everywhere.

• And, lastly, why document this in three gospels?
   17 And [Jesus] said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments (New Testament | Matthew 19:17; Mark 10:18; Luke 18:19)

Dear Fellow USians:

Yes, tomorrow, November 5 is, by all appearances, a precipitous tipping point. We USians have finally got ourselves boxed in to a one-way downward spiral. By ignoring most of the exposés¹ detailing the crimes and corruptions of elected officials (EOs with their puppet masters and servitors) both Right and Left, we have been maneuvered by Non-Government Global Powers (NGPs²) into a choice between: 1) tyranny of a collective (“Democrats”); or 2) tyranny of a cult-like king figure (“Republican”). Perhaps there has never been a more tragic case of “seeing, they see not, and hearing, they hear not”³ the inevitable outcome of our 2024 choice whether it be Right or Left, Left or Right.

So what is the choice?

To the RIGHT, a divo⁴

• who claimed he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue in New York and not lose loyal voters⁵;
• whose need for narcissistic supply is boundless and whose unwitting “flying monkeys” are everywhere;
• who is a master showman following the sound of his own self-serving trumpet;
• whose truth is primarily self-aggrandizing. flexible, embellished, fabricated.

To the LEFT, a diva⁶

• who fronts for a collective pushing for more and more [faux-]wokeness⁷;
• who vigorously parrots abortion “rights” with an, as yet, unspecified upper limit⁸;
• who blindly follows the ideology of DEI⁹ and Mao-like cultural revolution¹⁰;
• whose truth is primarily inverted, flexible, embellished, fabricated.

Yes, God is going to let US choose tyranny, whether to the Right or to the Left. Considering the repeating, historical pride cycles¹¹ of empires and civilizations, the USA (especially considering its promise and destiny) is on course for a justified cleansing, BUT if there are enough people awake to this dire situation of unchecked secret combinations and corruptions, we may yet escape the utter destruction visited upon two of our predecessors in the Ancient Americas: the Jaredites and the Nephites.

Time will tell the extent of our suffering and devastation.

So dear USians, whose “trumpet” are we going to hear? Many seem to think that Trump is God’s trumpet, but what if wanna-be-king Donald’s pattern is to trump (out-sound) even God’s trumpet? Have we listened to Trump 360 or just heard the 180 we like? What about Harris who seems to have already declared her non-affiliation¹²? What if the ignored 180 contradicts the preferred 180? What if both sides continually engage in word spin and spiral¹³ pretending commitment to freedoms and protections that they are already violating? What if God’s trumpet is His words, His law? How are we doing in hearkening — in forsaking the lures, culture, heroes, and ideologies of Babylon?

16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
18 ¶ Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it | (Old Testament | Jeremiah 6:16-19).

What does the sound of God's trump say?

104 And this shall be the sound of his trump, saying to all people, both in heaven and in earth, and that are under the earth—for every ear shall hear it, and every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess, while they hear the sound of the trump, saying: Fear God, and give glory to him who sitteth upon the throne, forever and ever; for the hour of his judgment is come | (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 88:104).

Again, time will tell whether we fear and glorify God or fear and glorify our chosen tyrant.

Confused About Israel? Part 2: the Gathering?

First in this series: Confused About the Jews? Part One: Conflation¹

Part TWO:
A friend was struggling with the non-fulfillment of a desired promise when these words came into her mind: “The things of eternity cannot be rushed.” When she reported the experience, it reminded me of an article published some years ago in “Gleanings in Genesis,”² explaining three principles in discerning the will of God for making changes in our lives or circumstances. And how interesting that Jacob / Israel should be our model for those three principles.

“... It has been suggested by Dr. Griffith-Thomas that this incident [Jacob leaving Padan-Aram] supplies us with valuable principles for regulating the believer in his daily life when in doubt concerning the will of God. How often one is puzzled to know whether God would have us take a certain course or not. How may I be sure of God’s will concerning some issue which confronts me? An important question; one that is frequently met with, and one which must find answer in the Word alone. Surely God has not left us without something definite for our guidance. Not that we must always look for a passage of Scripture whose terms are absolutely identical with our own situation, but rather must we search for some passage which sets forth some clearly defined principles which are suited to meet our case. Such indeed we find here in Genesis 31.

“Jacob was in a strange land. He had been there for twenty years, yet he knew he was not to spend the remainder of his days there. God had assured him he should return to Canaan. How much longer then was he to tarry at Padan-Aram? When was he to start out for his old home? How could he be sure when God’s time for him to move had arrived? Pressing questions these. Note how the answer to them is found here in three things: first, a definite desire sprang up in Jacob’s heart to return home — this is evident from Genesis 30:25. But this in itself was not sufficient to warrant a move, so Jacob must wait a while longer. Second, circumstances became such that a move seemed the wise thing; the jealousy of Laban and his sons made his continued stay there intolerable. (Genesis 31:1, 2.) This was ordered of God who makes all things “work together” for the good of His own people. But still something more was needed ere Jacob was justified in leaving. So, in the third place there was a clear word from God

— “The Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers.” (Genesis 31:3.)

“It is not always that God gives us a manifestation of these three principles, but whenever they do combine and are evident we may be sure of His will in any given circumstance”³ (bold emphasis added).

Now, I present a third case about timing when seeking to discern the will of God. It comes from Ginzberg’s Legends of the Jews as he tells of Moses leading the Children of Israel out of Egypt and deciding to take a longer route in order to avoid contact with the Philistines. Ginzberg inserts this explanation for the detour:

“... there was the fear that the sight of the land of the Philistines would awaken sad recollections in the Israelites and drive them back into Egypt speedily, for once upon a time it [the land of the Philistines] had been the scene of a bitter disappointment to them [the Israelites]. They had spent one hundred and eighty years in Egypt, in peace and prosperity, not in the least molested by the people. Suddenly Ganon came, a descendant of Joseph, of the tribe of Ephraim, and he spake, "The Lord hath appeared unto me, and He bade me lead you forth out of Egypt." The Ephraimites were the only ones to heed his words. Proud of their royal lineage as direct descendants of Joseph, and confident of their valor in war, for they were great heroes, they left the land and betook themselves to Palestine. They carried only weapons and gold and silver. They had taken no provisions, because they expected to buy food and drink on the way or capture them by force if the owners would not part with them for money.

“After a day's march they found themselves in the neighborhood of Gath, at the place where the shepherds employed by the residents of the city gathered with the flocks. The Ephraimites asked them to sell them some sheep, which they expected to slaughter in order to satisfy their hunger with them, but the shepherds refused to have business dealings with them, saying, "Are the sheep ours, or does the cattle belong to us, that we could part with them for money?" Seeing that they could not gain their point by kindness, the Ephraimites used force. The outcries of the shepherds brought the people of Gath to their aid. A violent encounter, lasting a whole day, took place between the Israelites and the Philistines. The people of Gath realized that alone they would not be able to offer successful resistance to the Ephraimites, and they summoned the people of the other Philistine cities to join them. The following day an army of forty thousand stood ready to oppose the Ephraimites. Reduced in strength, as they were, by their three days' fast, they were exterminated root and branch. Only ten of them escaped with their bare life, and returned to Egypt, to bring Ephraim word of the disaster that had overtaken his posterity, and he mourned many days.”⁴

The above three examples bring me to these questions:

▪ If the three Jacob-principles are a potential guide in the things of God’s will and timing, should they have been satisfied in the founding of the state called Israel?
▪ Was the “gathering” in God’s will and timing or man’s?
▪ Are we to take the passion and rhetoric of Theodor Herzl,⁵ “the father and founder of political Zionism,” et al. as the governing desire of the Jews?
▪ Can we acknowledge that there were many Jews who opposed the creation of a nation state, like Moshe Menuhin who wrote of his and others’ distress in "Not by Might, Nor by Power": The Zionist Betrayal of Judaism⁶; or of Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro who wrote: The Empty Wagon: Zionism's Journey from Identity Crisis to Identity Theft⁷; or of many others of Tribe Judah with the same concerns who can be found by searching?⁸
▪ Was 1948 (date of the founding of a nation calling itself Israel) the initiation of the promised, prophesied gathering?
▪ Is Tribe Judah to gather first in lands originally divided amongst Twelve?
▪ Could Herzl or perhaps even Walter Rothschild⁹ (a major Zionism advocate and financier) be Ganon-types who desired and imagined something so avidly that there was no thought about God's timing; perhaps an obsession and self-appointment to impose a sectarian vision?
▪ In this world of power obsession and lying wonders have we been deceived?
▪ Has Tribe Judah’s identity been stolen as Rabbi Shapiro claims?¹⁰
▪ If the Twelve Tribes of Israel had a commission from God to witness of His Plan of Redemption and Salvation¹¹ is that what the nation calling itself Israel has been seeking to do?

God has great promises of gathering for Tribe Judah AND for the other eleven Tribes, as well as for all Gentiles who come unto Him as Nephi writes:

1 ... for I, Nephi, would not suffer that ye [the people of Nephi] should suppose that ye are more righteous than the Gentiles shall be. For behold, except ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall all likewise perish; and because of the words which have been spoken ye need not suppose that the Gentiles are utterly destroyed.
2 For behold, I say unto you that as many of the Gentiles as will repent are the covenant people of the Lord; and as many of the Jews as will not repent shall be cast off; for the Lord covenanteth with none save it be with them that repent and believe in his Son, who is the Holy One of Israel (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 30:1–2).

1 AND now, my beloved brethren, I have read these things that ye might know concerning the covenants of the Lord that he has covenanted with all the house of Israel—
2 That he has spoken unto the Jews, by the mouth of his holy prophets, even from the beginning down, from generation to generation, until the time comes that they shall be restored to the true church and fold of God; when they shall be gathered home to the lands of their inheritance, and shall be established in all their lands of promise.
3 Behold, my beloved brethren, I speak unto you these things that ye may rejoice, and lift up your heads forever, because of the blessings which the Lord God shall bestow upon your children .(Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 9:1–3, bold emphasis added).

What do we make of “until the time comes that they shall be restored to the true church and fold of God; when they shall be gathered home to the lands of their inheritance ...”?

Yes, there may be other interpretation of wording and placement, but what also of these words:

11 Wherefore, after they are driven to and fro, for thus saith the angel, many shall be afflicted in the flesh, and shall not be suffered to perish, because of the prayers of the faithful; they shall be scattered, and smitten, and hated; nevertheless, the Lord will be merciful unto them, that when they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer, they shall be gathered together again to the lands of their inheritance (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 6:11).

7 But behold, thus saith the Lord God: When the day cometh that they [the Jews] shall believe in me, that I am Christ, then have I covenanted with their fathers that they shall be restored in the flesh, upon the earth, unto the lands of their inheritance (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 10:7).

7 And it shall come to pass that the Jews which are scattered also shall begin to believe in Christ; and they shall begin to gather in upon the face of the land; and as many as shall believe in Christ shall also become a delightsome people (Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 30:7).¹²

Mostly I have questions because the history of man, including the Children of Israel, has been one déjà vu after another where:

16 They seek not the Lord to establish his righteousness, but every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god, whose image is in the likeness of the world, and whose substance is that of an idol, which waxeth old and shall perish in Babylon, even Babylon the great, which shall fall (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 1:16).

Do we really think that the GODS* of the nation called Israel are any more or less than the GODS* of every other nation from the Americas through Europe, to the entire Middle East and beyond — being *Guns, Oil, Drugs, Sex? being also the DOGS of war¹³! I repeat the laments of God and Moses that have echoed for nigh 4000 years:

16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them (Old Testament | Deuteronomy 31:16).

27 For I [Moses] know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death? ...
29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands (Old Testament | Deuteronomy 31:27, 29).

So few of God’s children (whether of Tribes Israel or Gentile) have seemed to learn wisdom. The pride cycle¹⁴ spins on and we take sides instead of crying repentance to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, beginning with ourself! 

Yet, there is hope (with a warming):

16 ¶ Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it (Old Testament | Isaiah 1:16-20).

The meek will He guide in judgment; and the meek will He teach His way.” (Psalm 25:9.) “He that believeth shall not make haste.” May writer and reader be permitted by Divine grace to enjoy that blessed peace that comes from knowing we are in the will that “good and perfect and acceptable will” — of God.

Moral Orientation: Part III - Self-as-Sovereign

(Thoughts and Observations)

If we view history and humanity through moral orientation, we seem, in thought and deed, to continually fluctuate between orientations:

1. Transcendent / Divine
2. Social / Power Consensus
3. Self-as-Sovereign [as Supreme Authority].

The third orientation: self-as-sovereign runs along a spectrum from sweet, naïve new-ager types who radiate love, peace, freedom, tolerance, live-and-let-live all the way to the extreme, “do what thou wilt,” hard-core pederast.

Yes, tolerance and live-and-let-live are essential elements in this mortal probation³ with its moral agency — where  tolerance means accepting people without having to accept their ideas or demands. They pursue their own way and we pursue them with “Good News” (as much as they will allow).

Granted, maintaining peace and social order is a complex task in a complex society, but in large measure private, personal choices do not injure others or their property. If choices do harm (especially the innocent), there are generally criminal and civil remedies, but, in the end, all thought, speech, and action, public or private, will be judged by Divine Justice — not by social / power consensus or some sovereign-self defense. The Great Judge will decide, in every individual case, if it is just to apply mercy.⁴ In the meantime, however, our societies and cultures must learn how to manage aggressive, self-as-sovereign activists and tyrants (and their servitors) who pursue control and domination.

If we had retained memory of the “Grand Council,”⁵ we might be better able to spot the many mortal variants of that first and famous self-as-sovereign activist — the one described by God:

1 AND I, the Lord God, spake unto Moses, saying: That Satan, whom thou hast commanded in the name of mine Only Begotten, is the same which was from the beginning, and he came before me, saying—Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor.
2 But, behold, my Beloved Son, which was my Beloved and Chosen from the beginning, said unto me—Father, thy will be done, and the glory be thine forever.
3 Wherefore, because that Satan rebelled against me, and sought to destroy the agency of man, which I, the Lord God, had given him, and also, that I should give unto him mine own power; by the power of mine Only Begotten, I caused that he should be cast down;
4 And he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will, even as many as would not hearken unto my voice (Pearl of Great Price | Moses 4:1-4).

Isaiah said of this failed usurper:

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High (Old Testament | Isaiah 14:12-14).

We see this self-as-sovereign attitude manifest in the monuments, inscriptions, and writings of many kings, pharaohs, emperors, wanna-be’s, et al. throughout history. In page after page in Empires of the Bible one can read the extravagant, self-accolades of old world tyrants.⁶

And what is self-as-sovereign if not: “I am who I think and say I am; I am subjectively able to decide what is good and what is bad; I am destined, deserving, entitled to rule in whatever spheres I choose; My way is the way”? And thus we hear the ever recycling divine lament of “their own way.”⁷

We are now witnessing a self-as-sovereign explosion, especially, in the promotion by seducers and servitors of “sovereign” dysphorics — supreme arbiters now of what is “real” based on feelings; of what is good speech, what is hate speech; what is right, what is wrong; what is timely, what is not; what another must say and think to conform to the sovereign-self’s self-image. Values orientation is now subjective and personal unless contested, and then it (bizarrely) becomes objective and compulsory (for less-sovereign selves?). Almost always, the self-as-sovereign moves from personal choice to public coercion.

We see this self-as-sovereign manifest throughout scripture, every time an “authority” took it upon him- / herself to act outside divine orientation. Think of kings Saul, David, Solomon and on down the divided line for generations. We see it succinctly expressed in the words of anti-Christ Korihor:

17 And many more such things did he [Korihor] say unto them, telling them that there could be no atonement made for the sins of men, but every man fared in this life according to the management of the creature; therefore every man prospered according to his genius, and that every man conquered according to his strength; and whatsoever a man did was no crime.
18 And thus he did preach unto them, leading away the hearts of many, causing them to lift up their heads in their wickedness, yea, leading away many women, and also men, to commit whoredoms—telling them that when a man was dead, that was the end thereof  (Book of Mormon | Alma 30:17-18).

We see it in the descriptions of the “natural man.”⁸ Many, in the past, have conspired to be rulers, and using fear, favour, and falsehood have prospered for a time, always with the help of social / power consensus. As Étienne de La Boétie observed:

I should like merely to understand how it happens that so many men, so many villages, so many cities, so many nations, sometimes suffer under a single tyrant who has no other power than the power they give him; who is able to harm them only to the extent to which they have the willingness to bear with him; who could do them absolutely no injury unless they preferred to put up with him rather than contradict him. Surely a striking situation! Yet it is so common that one must grieve the more and wonder the less at the spectacle of a million men serving in wretchedness, their necks under the yoke, not constrained by a greater multitude than they ...⁸

Now under COVID, “gender,” and climate politics, we have regressed to another déjà vu of tyranny and mindless servitors. With the aid of the internet, social / power consensus has elevated the self-as-sovereign orientation to new heights, creating a flood of mini-tyrants — a plague of bullies; a bully culture. Social / Power consensus and self-as-sovereign have conjoined once again to battle against transcendent / divine. So, have we come to this?

5 [T]he people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable (Old Testament | Isaiah 3:5).

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever (New Testament | Romans 1:25).

Before ending this post, I reiterate: for truly dysphoric adolescents, compassion with a balancing of facts, feelings, faith, and science (NOT pscience ⁹) can help adolescents navigate crises till the age of maturity when as adults, they can make a choice of orientation and presentation, but not a choice to coerce conformity in others.

In the meantime what choices are we, adults, making? Are we, “compassionately” coaching youth to live in the suffocation and sin of self-focus and -centredness with the expectation of happiness, joy, peace? Are we too sophisticated to mention:

19 [K]now ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's (New Testament | 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)?

Let us ponder whether our participation in the mocking of divine truths and divine traditions that have proven themselves over millennia is but a precursor to the sudden demise of our own arrogance.

Moral Orientation? Part II: Social / Power Consensus?

If we view history and humanity through moral orientation, we seem, in thought and deed, to continually fluctuate between orientations:

1. Transcendent / Divine,
2. Social / Power Consensus, and
3. Self as Sovereign.

At first blush, consensus might seem the most pragmatic and democratic way to establish morals and values for a complex society, until we remember the things that have been done in the name of social / power consensus.³

Lennox and Peterson use the analogy of Nazi Germany to illustrate the problems with social / power consensus, but the Nazis are just one of many historical genocides and massacres that unfolded under a social / power consensus. This partial list of historical examples⁴ is shocking; not to mention the B.C. and A.D. millennia of slave-trading, enslavement, wars, and violent domination. In our own time, we have witnessed decades of proxy wars, “legal” abortions, tyrannical regimes, and quasi-hidden atrocities like the Phoenix program⁵ all under social / power consensus.

Just ponder how the Ten Commandments from a divine / transcendent orientation have fared under social / power consensus?

  [1] Thou shalt have no other gods before me;
  [2] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness ... [nor] bow down ... to them, nor serve them; ...
  [3] Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; ....
  [4] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. ....
  [5] Honour thy father and thy mother ....
  [6] Thou shalt not kill.
  [7] Thou shalt not commit adultery.
  [8] Thou shalt not steal.
  [9] Thou shalt not bear false witness ....
[10] Thou shalt not covet ...

And what of the global COVID narrative where once freedom-loving, courteous peoples and nations morphed into bullies, aggressors, accusers, coercers, and snitches; into fearful, cruel, blind and deaf amnesiacs. Just listen to the National Citizens Inquiry (NCI⁶) to get a sense of what a social / power consensus did to the lives and integrity of millions worldwide. And let us never forget how captured the majority of our medics, judges, teachers, leaders, “experts” and enforcers were by a coercive, false narrative.

Perhaps worst of all is the present morass of “gender” politics inverting the creation of Day Six⁷ into a medical and pharma windfall. Are we so blind that we do not see this for what it is? Are we not aware of what unethical pscience⁸ can achieve through food, pharma, trauma, mental contagion, and menticide⁹? Are we such dupes (under an illusion of compassion¹⁰) that we think disorders and dysphorias described in the DMV5 are, now,  to be affirmed and facilitated? When was the threat of suicide, if one did not get one’s feelings affirmed, ever acceptable? When was it ever compassionate to encourage body mutilation to “feel” better or to become oneself?

How are “spiritually”-aware adults (“expert” or not, LDS or not) who guide socially / emotionally confused and / or abused children into the arms of profiteers any better than infidels? I suspect they will be deemed worse.

Let us ask: When were adolescent feelings ever the end of the story? Are we implying to youth that if God doesn’t give a quick fix to confusion, that time and maturity won’t help either? Instead of trusting in and seeking help (patiently) from the Creator, do we try to fast-track the fix and force it on others because God-created hormones will not wait? Are consensus-captured parents any better than captured-“experts” at deciding when to chemically castrate or sex-change (exchange) a child? And when did anyone ever have the right to cause or to consent to cause harm or injury to a child? Even the child does not have  legal capacity to consent to harm by another, even by a parent. And don’t we already know plenty of parents and others who have been held legally accountable for harm to a child? except now it’s encouraged if called “gender-affirming care”? And “conversion therapy”¹¹ (even talk-therapy) is outlawed in many places after “gender-affirming” conversion has been achieved. Just consider all the inversions, projections, and “self”-incriminations of pseudoscientific practice that one finds in this one wiki article (“conversion therapy”).

Of course, dysphoric children need compassion, and understanding, but not the corruption of compassion that escalates feelings and confusion into irreversible, life-altering sterility and life-long medical / pharma after-care.

Give adolescents the full story. Acknowledge the thousands of de-transitioners. Let dysphoric children hear the “down-side” of social / power consensus. Help them understand that “identity crisis” and “role confusion” are the short-term norm (known and studied for decades¹²) for most adolescents; that they are in the midst of psycho-social-physical development and that this abnormal spike in “gender” dysphoria is sourced in a social / mental construct, NOT in some erroneous sex-assignment at or before birth. Sex is a physical construct, visible and invisible. No amount of cutting, cosmetics, or imagining  can change billions of XX to XY or vice versa; nor does it work to pretend we are sovereign beings, accountable only to self, but with the sovereign right to compel others to see and accept whatever we allege. We are not potter’s clay to mush and mold ourselves at whim:

6 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? (Old Testament | Isaiah 29:16)

And another thing: what of the social / power consensus of DEI¹³ ideology that is, in reality, destroying all the real DEI gains of the past 70 years? The faux, coercive DEI being preached by captured, coerced corps, CEOs, et al. is but one more “turning of things upside down” presaging another déjà vu collapse, as some corps already know.

If we consider scripture history, we can see that almost every cause of lamentation arose because God’s people fell into a social / power consensus orientation. What built the tower of Babel? the great and spacious buildings of then and now? What kept the children of Israel in bondage for hundreds of years? What brought about a turning away from the judge-system to a desire for kings “like all the nations”¹⁴? What do we think undergird the killing of Jesus? 

In our own day, social / power consensus is aggressively destroying transcendent / divine orientation. Infiltrators, provocateurs, deceivers, and dupers have maneuvered their way into every level of government, every agency, every church, and every institution, weaponizing a deluded form of “love thy neighbour” over “love the Lord thy God” and promoting trust in (corrupted, psychopathic) pscience. Let us ask ourselves: Where is my orientation? What is the orientation of leaders as manifest in word, deed, silence? Are we being asked to pretend? to live a lie?

The reality of this last test and gathering is that believers in transcendent / divine orientation will likely  become targets for scorn, coercion, and censorship¹⁵ by advocates of social / power consensus. We are seeing it already. If déjà vu holds true, it may even escalate to a repeat of death threats as recorded in the Ancient Americas that preceded His first coming,¹⁶ even if that seems impossible, but then who could have imagined the cruelty and crimes of these past four COVID years.

Will we be discerning or will we follow the pied-pipers of social / power consensus?

PS: Feb 15, 2024: As for consensus advocates who feel they are the persecuted, maligned ones, perhaps they are; God knows, but what if criticism is in the same sense as those (like priests of Baal, idolaters, kingmen, Pharisees, Sadducees, and so forth) who came under the convicting words of Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, the Nephis and Almas, Helaman, Peter, Paul, et al., but especially the blistering rebukes of Jesus¹⁷? And if we think that only prophets and apostles are allowed to criticize, what should we make of this counsel to disciples (bold emphasis added):

6 And Jesus said unto his disciples, Beholdest thou the Scribes, and the Pharisees, and the Priests, and the Levites? They teach in their synagogues, but do not observe the law, nor the commandments; and all have gone out of the way, and are under sin.
7 Go thou and say unto them, Why teach ye men the law and the commandments, when ye yourselves are the children of corruption?
8 Say unto them, Ye hypocrites, first cast out the beam out of thine own yes; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
9 Go ye into the world, saying unto all, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come nigh unto you (New Testament | JST Matthew 7:6-9; JST1876-NT, p. 10).

Always bearing in mind:

1 Now these are the words which Jesus taught his disciples that they should say unto the people. Judge not unrighteously, that ye be not judged; but judge righteous judgment.
2 For with what judgment ye shall judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again (New Testament | JST Matthew 7:1-2).

24 Judge not according to your traditions, but judge righteous judgment (New Testament | JST John 7:24).

Every one of us is, by our nature, self-defensive, but if we are not honest in evaluating criticism of ourselves or our friends, would that not also be unrighteous judgment?

To claim an Orientation is not the deciding word because Orientation Two often seeks to wrap itself in Orientation One, as we see in gender-affirming care. As to the wrath and anger of God for all our breaches: Justice does terrible things when repentance is rejected and Mercy unrequested. Stealth Power*: How Long Did It Take to Show Up?

Garden of Eden?

If we confine the question to this world, and if the first thought was Garden of Eden, we’re probably right. And it seems from there that most things went downhill, if we measure things by the crowded, descending “broad way” versus the nigh-vacant ascending narrow one.¹

If some math genius or AI-loop parsed the Good News exclamations with the lamentations, I wonder what the percentage would be? This year 2024 might be a good time to read our Books with that comparison in mind; and to ponder why things go bad so fast and whether we are paying enough attention to the lamentations and the revelations about secret combinations pursuing power and gain in order “to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and ... the destruction of all people.”²

What if the imperative duty that we seem to have left undone back in 1839³ is being done for another time and atrocity by a group funded by Canadian citizens: The National Citizens Inquiry (NCI⁴). If you have not heard of the NCI, listen to these two testimonies out of three-hundred-five possible:

If one thinks the USA has escaped “the [traitorous] overthrow,” seek out the USA citizens who testified before the NCI. The two P3 combines of 1) Pscience,⁵ Power, Politics; and 2) Private Public Partnerships have fractured the US Constitution while we USians square off behind Nebuchadnezzar on the one side and King Zedekiah on the other.⁶ What do we expect⁷ in coming days if we stand idle and silent, pretending / acting as if all is well? Or “saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (New Testament | 2 Peter 3:4)?

What can we do or not do in such dire circumstances, you might ask? We get informed. We don’t lie or live a lie. We resist compromise and corruption. We repent. We read our Books and apply them to ourselves and our day. We share and honor truth. We don’t resist evil with evil. We pray for understanding, wisdom, discernment. We pray for the latter day righteous one; for the 144,000; for those suffering at the hands or commands of the wicked; for our families and friends to awaken to the patterns and warnings in our Books; for leaders to repent or arise choosing integrity and courage; for the wicked to repent, and if they refuse, for exposure and accountability, Justice and Judgment. We pray for guidance. We pray that we will see and hear instead of not seeing and not hearing. That’s some of what we can do.
