Discerning Daniel's Seventy Weeks?

Much research and writing have gone into calculating when Daniel's 70 weeks' prophecy1 began unfolding — that is, “from the going forth of the commandment”:
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times (Old Testament | Daniel 9:25).
One researcher / writer, William Struse,2 summarizes the four Persian possibilities of the Second Temple era3 as:
1. A decree by Cyrus (the Great) in his first year (2 Chronicles 36: 22) [536 B.C.]
2. A decree by Darius (the Great) Artaxerxes in his second year (Ezra 6: 7– 14) [520 B.C.]
3. A decree by “Artaxerxes” (Longimanus?) in his seventh year (Ezra 7) [458 B.C.]
4. A decree by “Artaxerxes” (Longimanus?) in his twentieth year (Nehemiah 2) [445 B.C.]
Struse considers them all in lengthy detail (pp. 41-110), but to cut straight to the conclusion, he rejects them all in favor of unacknowledged commands from the divine King of kings, rather than selecting the command of a mortal king. In testing and then rejecting the four Persian decrees, Struse reasons thus:
1. the meaning of the word command in Daniel 9:25 (Heb. dabar: speech, word, speaking, utterance, commandment) references God in the same manner as evidenced in Daniel 9:2, 12. and 23
2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word [dabar] of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem (Old Testament | Daniel 9:2)

12 And He hath confirmed His words [dabar], which He spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem (Old Testament | Daniel 9:12)

23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment [dabar] came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision (Old Testament | Daniel 9:23).
2. the “going forth of the commandment” (dabar) through Haggai and Zechariah:
14 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and [even4] Artaxerxes king of Persia.
15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king (Old Testament | Ezra 6:14 - 15).

16 Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem (Old Testament | Zechariah 1:16)
Proposed Timeline:
Decree of Cyrus: 536 BC (2 Chr. 36:22, Ezra 1:1-3)
Short-Lived Enthusiasm: Unfortunately the enthusiasm of Joshua the high priest, Zerubbabel the governor, and the other repatriated Israelite captives for building the temple didn’t last long. ... [T]he harassment of their enemies and their own personal interests caused them to abandon their efforts to rebuild the temple. For the next sixteen years Israel neglected the house of YHWH and instead expended their efforts on their own dwellings and on intermingling with the women of the surrounding nations.

YHWH Intervenes: ... After such glorious beginnings under the decree of Cyrus, the dreams of the early Jewish repatriates were all but squelched. It had been nearly two decades and the temple was still not built, Jerusalem was defenseless, and the people lived scattered amongst their enemies in their own land.
“Then something changed. YHWH’s divine anger had run its course. In the fullness of His eternal plan, He set events in motion once again. At this pivotal point in Israel’s history, the word of YHWH went forth, and He commanded the people to “return and build Jerusalem”5:
“In the second year of Darius the king [520 BC], in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word [dabar] of YHWH by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying, Thus speaketh YHWH of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that YHWH’s house should be built.
“Then came the word [dabar] of YHWH by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus saith YHWH of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith YHWH of hosts; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith YHWH.
“Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith YHWH of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house . . .
“Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of YHWH their God, and the words [dabar] of Haggai the prophet, as YHWH their God had sent him, and the people did fear before YHWH. Then spake Haggai YHWH’s messenger in YHWH’s message unto the people, saying,
“I am with you, saith YHWH.
“And YHWH stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of YHWH of hosts, their God, in the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king (Haggai 1: 1–15, bold emphasis by sms).
“Do we understand what we are reading? This is YHWH’s own commandment to return and build— clearly given and precisely dated! Thus begins one of the most important events in the history of the world. YHWH begins His countdown to the coming Messiah and mankind’s reconciliation to Himself. Here Haggai the prophet witnesses the “word” or dabar of YHWH, the living God of the Bible, commanding Israel to shuwb, to return (turn back) and build His sanctuary, the very heart of the city of Jerusalem. But YHWH wasn’t satisfied with giving His word to only one Old Testament prophet. Out of the mouth of two witnesses He confirmed his word.
“In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius [520 B.C.], came the word [dabar] of YHWH unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, YHWH hath been sore displeased with your fathers. Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith YHWH of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith YHWH of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith YHWH of hosts . . .

“Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word [dabar] of YHWH unto Zechariah . . .

“Then the angel of YHWH answered and said, O YHWH of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten [70] years? And YHWH answered the angel that talked with me with good words [dabar] and comfortable words [dabar]. So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith YHWH of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
“Therefore thus saith YHWH; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith YHWH of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
“Cry yet, saying, Thus saith YHWH of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and YHWH shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem. (Zechariah 1: 1–17, emphasis [WS])”6
God's Word to return and rebuild: 520 BC (Zechariah 1, Haggai 1, Ezra 6)
Temple construction resumes: 520 BC (Ezra 6:7-14)
2nd Temple completed: 516 BC & dedicated 515 BC (Ezra 6 & 7)
Ezra goes to Jerusalem: 515 BC (Ezra 7)
Nehemiah goes to Jerusalem and completes the wall in 52 days: 501 BC (Nehemiah 2)
This is only a brief selection of Struse's analysis, so if understanding Daniel's prophecy interests you it might be profitable to read Struse's entire thesis and decide for yourself, but there is also one other correction(?) to consider in Daniel 9 — a variation observed by Berean Ron Bublitz in the ESV Bible translation.
“Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.”7
After his initial shock at the separation of the seven and sixty-two weeks into distinct, separate time periods, Bublitz writes:
This began the journey of research and discovery culminating in this book.   During the following flurry of research, I discovered why the ESV had translated the passage the way it had – and it was not wrong after all.   In addition, my research included such areas as the original Hebrew, the Aramaic Peshitta, traditional scholarly interpretations, textual criticism, chronology of the Babylonian Exile, the life of Jesus Christ, eclipses, astronomy, calendar systems and modern fulfilled prophecy with a brief stop in plant physiology.   I was overwhelmed at what began to take shape.   I want to share these amazing discoveries with you over the next pages.8
This blogger, SMS, has much yet to study in Struse, Bublitz, and others, but wishes to share these men's observations and insights for studying Daniel 9. They appear not to be aware of each other's work, (and therefore differ in their views), but between the two of them, we might be able to make progress in better understanding these last days; and perhaps the final, one week of:
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate (Old Testament | Daniel 9:27).
Let us all be Bereans.9

1. Old Testament | Daniel 9:20 - 27 (Bold emphasis added.)
   20 ¶ And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;
21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.
23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Enoch's Solar Calendar: Month II (Two)?

(Times and Seasons Series:Post #VIII)

Background:
Signs, Seasons, Days, and Years: # II (Enoch)1
Pondering Enoch's* Calendar? - #V2
If the sun begins rising through portal 5 during Month II, does a changed position at sunrise mark the beginning of the new solar month? Overcast conditions for the past week have precluded observation where I live, but considering Enoch's writings of eight 30-day months intersected by four 31-day months, here is a PDF grid of what Month II (Two) might look like if we looked to Enoch instead of Pope Gregory (assuming, of course, that Enoch hasn't suffered text corruption — and who knows for sure?!). Day 1 of Month II, in theory, follows Day 30 of Month I.

For those interested in what has happened in scripture / history during Month II (Two), here is a list. And if there is parallelism or déjà vu in times, seasons, and prophecy, could any of these recitations of date have any relevance to these last days? — (the last week of Daniel's 70 weeks?)

Calendar - Second Month ( 15 references)
11 ¶ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. (Old Testament | Genesis 7:11 - 14)

14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
15 ¶ And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. (Old Testament | Genesis 8:14 - 17)

1 AND they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: (Old Testament | Exodus 16:1 - 2)

1 AND the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies. (Old Testament | Numbers 1:1 - 3)

17 ¶ And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:
18 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls. (Old Testament | Numbers 1:17 - 18)

9 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD.
11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. (Old Testament | Numbers 9:9 - 12)

10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.
11 ¶ And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran. (Old Testament | Numbers 10:10 - 12)

1 AND it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD. (Old Testament | 1 Kings 6:1)

1 NOW the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand. ...
4 And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand. (Old Testament | 1 Chronicles 27:1, 4)

1 THEN Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. (Old Testament | 2 Chronicles 3:1 - 2)

1 AND Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.
2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.
3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem. (Old Testament | 2 Chronicles 30:1 - 3)

13 ¶ And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.
14 And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.
15 Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD. (Old Testament | 2 Chronicles 30:13 - 15)

8 ¶ Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD. (Old Testament | Ezra 3:8)

1 AND it came to pass in the eleventh year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi, on the fifth day of the second month, there having been much peace in the land of Zarahemla, there having been no wars nor contentions for a certain number of years, even until the fifth day of the second month in the eleventh year, there was a cry of war heard throughout the land. (Book of Mormon | Alma 16:1)

26 And thus, with their forces, they were determined to maintain those cities which they had taken.
27 And now it came to pass in the second month of this year, there was brought unto us many provisions from the fathers of those my two thousand sons.
28 And also there were sent two thousand men unto us from the land of Zarahemla. And thus we were prepared with ten thousand men, and provisions for them, and also for their wives and their children. (Book of Mormon | Alma 56:26 - 28)

Let Us Be Clear!

(Discerning “woke” and “new woke”)

It is time we cleared up the morass surrounding co-opted, corrupted “woke.” To say we are done-with-woke or that we are anti-woke is to confuse and conflate history with today's histrionics. “Stay woke” was and is African-American Vernacular English beginning in the 1930s (perhaps in use as early as the 1860s)1 to raise awareness of pervasive discrimination and injustice against African-Americans and to break out of those unwarranted prejudices and exclusions. Thus, to say we are anti-woke is to appear to disdain or regret all the advances of the past century. No, we are not anti-woke or done-with-woke because increasing awareness and truth are what keeps us moving forward in honoring and preserving fundamental rights and protections for every living soul. Those fundamental rights and protections are the Right to:
▪ self-determination,
▪ liberty,
▪ due process of law,
▪ freedom of movement,
▪ privacy,
▪ freedom of thought,
▪ freedom of religion,
▪ freedom of expression,
▪ peaceful assembly,
▪ freedom of association.2
The original Woke was in pursuit of these Rights and Truths — the Truth that all men, women, and children are children of God and are entitled to equal Rights and Protections according to just and holy principles.3

BUT the present, appropriated, (“new”) woke (nwoke) manifests the very opposite of the original woke. Nwoke is about aggressively negating those Rights and Protections for everyone (regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, politics, status, success, etc.) who does not affirm the various nwoke narratives of critical race theory, victimization, entitlement, spectrumized sexual orientation, etc. Nwoke is anti-woke. It is regressive in the extreme. In speech and action, nwoke opposes the universality of Rights and Protections. Nwoke vociferously proclaims adherence to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI-ology4), but in hypocritical speech and action (public posts, vlogs, gatherings, protests, counter-protests, profane tirades, etc.), adherents deny diversity, equity, inclusion and rights for all but affirmers of their narratives. Nwoke, calling itself woke, excludes, disqualifies, mocks, targets, censors, and maligns the “non-nwoke” of every stripe.

There are tens of thousands of thoughtful observers, left, center, and right, who reject nwoke dogma — who see clearly that the tyrannical demands for special entitlement, advantage, recognition, privilege, accommodation, and affirmation based in alleged life-experience and feelings have corrupted Truth and reality. But, at the same time, there are tens of thousands of left, center, and right nwoke believers who have bought into the pretended DEI-ology — the propaganda of the Lie.

The tragedy is that DSM-V-documented maladies are being celebrated and normalized, mostly by self-obsessed diva / divo (SOD) activists, along with their captured hosts and corporate sponsors. Some gender dysphorics who wish to quietly and privately transition or de-transition (pursuing their right to self-determination and self-expression) and who have no interest in compelling public display and affirmation of their life-choices are appalled by the tyranny and escalating violence and violent rhetoric  of the SOD activists. The activists continually allege instances of hate and violence directed against themselves (and there may be some pushback in reaction to SOD tyranny), but, as others have noted, what activists call "hate speech" is any speech that they hate. And if we were awake to the depth of evil and the science of domination, we would know that infiltrators and provocateurs will do whatever exacerbates division, violence, and fear on every side. That is the way of the destroyer.

Let us also be clear: there are dysphorics who deserve compassion as they struggle with self-identity and self-understanding, but there is also an agenda of destruction that has been in play since creation5 — an agenda that seeks to turn everything upside down6 and inside out; that calls evil good and good evil.7 And in this year 2023, we are in the very midst of this inversion. Some day the experiments, poisons, pscience, propaganda, and politics that have driven this social, mental, and emotional contagion and spiritual catastrophe will be exposed.8

And if we think gender chaos is a new thing in these last days, it is not.9 Androgyny10 (and its cousins) have always been an obsession of the adversary through all ages of time. Considering the forever recycling depravities in history, Satan manifests as a self- and sex-obsessed entity. Why would he change his modus operandi of destruction at this late stage, when it has worked so well for millennia? In partial quote of Shakespeare:
There are more things in [hell] and earth, ...,
Than are dreamt of in [our] philosophy.

Shakespeare: Hamlet: Prince of Denmark (1.5.167-8)11
And so, in this age of lying wonders, 2023 repeats the corruptions of 23 B.C.
4 And seeing the people in a state of such awful wickedness, and those Gadianton robbers filling the judgment–seats—having usurped the power and authority of the land; laying aside the commandments of God, and not in the least aright before him; doing no justice unto the children of men;
5 Condemning the righteous because of their righteousness; letting the guilty and the wicked go unpunished because of their money; and moreover to be held in office at the head of government, to rule and do according to their wills, that they might get gain and glory of the world, and, moreover, that they might the more easily commit adultery, and steal, and kill, and do according to their own wills—
6 Now this great iniquity had come upon the [people], in the space of not many years (Book of Mormon | Helaman 7:4-6).

1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woke :
“Woke (/ˈwoʊk/ WOHK) is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination". ...
“The phrase stay woke has history in AAVE as far back as the 1930s, in some contexts referring to an awareness of the social and political issues affecting African Americans. The phrase was uttered in lyrics of recordings by Lead Belly in mid 20th century and post-millennium by Erykah Badu.
“Origins and usage
“In some varieties of African-American English, woke is used in place of woken, the usual past participle form of wake.[8] This has led to the use of woke as an adjective equivalent to awake, which has become mainstream in the United States.
“While it is not known when being awake was first used as a metaphor for political engagement and activism, one early example in the United States was the paramilitary youth organization the Wide Awakes, which formed in Hartford, Connecticut in 1860 to support the Republican candidate in the 1860 presidential election, Abraham Lincoln. Local chapters of the group spread rapidly across northern cities in the ensuing months and "triggered massive popular enthusiasm" around the election. The political militancy of the group also alarmed many southerners, who saw in the Wide Awakes confirmation of their fears of northern, Republican political aggression. The support among the Wide Awakes for abolition, as well as the participation of a number of Black men in a Wide Awakes parade in Massachusetts, likely contributed to such anxiety.”

5. Pearl of Great Price | Moses 4:3-6
   3 Wherefore, because that Satan rebelled against me, and sought to destroy the agency of man, which I, the Lord God, had given him, and also, that I should give unto him mine own power; by the power of mine Only Begotten, I caused that he should be cast down;
4 And he became Satan, yea, even the devil, the father of all lies, to deceive and to blind men, and to lead them captive at his will, even as many as would not hearken unto my voice.
5 And now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which I, the Lord God, had made.
6 And Satan put it into the heart of the serpent, (for he had drawn away many after him,) and he sought also to beguile Eve, for he knew not the mind of God, wherefore he sought to destroy the world.
6. Old Testament | Isaiah 29:16; Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 27:27
16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
7. Old Testament | Isaiah 5:20; Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 15:20
20 ¶ Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
8. Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 30:16-18
16 Wherefore, the things of all nations shall be made known; yea, all things shall be made known unto the children of men.
17 There is nothing which is secret save it shall be revealed; there is no work of darkness save it shall be made manifest in the light; and there is nothing which is sealed upon the earth save it shall be loosed.
18 Wherefore, all things which have been revealed unto the children of men shall at that day be revealed; and Satan shall have power over the hearts of the children of men no more, for a long time.
