Déjà Vu ~ 29-23 BC: Corruptions, Conversions, Inversions?

(from the Ancient Americas circa 29-23 BC)

Background: circa 600 BC two families fled the land of Jerusalem, eventually making their way across the ocean to what later became known as the Americas. The two families: Lehi (descended of Manasseh / Joseph1) and Ishmael (likewise descended) intermarried and fractured into two groups with the two eldest sons of Lehi (Laman & Lemuel) squaring off against the four youngest sons (Sam, Nephi, Jacob, & Joseph). The conflict over rights of governance became so bitter, the younger group, led by Nephi, moved north(?) to escape the conflict,2 but the bitterness of the two eldest soon led to their attempts to bring the Nephite group into servitude. For nigh a thousand years, the wars between the two groups waxed and waned with a few specific periods when peace prevailed to such an extent that they freely mingled and intermarried till power frictions arose again and they took up the old divisions and hatreds: mostly Lamanities versus Nephites, except for ”Nephite” dissenters seeking power who often stirred the Lamanites to anger and war as previously described in Déjà Vu: circa BC 72.3 But the Nephite great failing, that eventually proved their entire destruction was the continually repeating pride cycle4 and infiltration in government by secret combinations pursuing and protecting power and gain.

It doesn't take much investigation to witness a latter-day Nephite repeat in this land of the Americas.5 Thus, our best hope and prayer is perhaps for a Lamanite repeat of circa 29 to 23 BC. Can the native inhabitants of these Americas that were so devastated by the Europeans beginning 500 plus years ago, reject the ways and means of the domination system through a mighty conversion — through an inversion of our present dire straits?
1 AND it came to pass that when the sixty and second year of the reign of the judges had ended, all these things had happened and the Lamanites had become, the more part of them, a righteous people, insomuch that their righteousness did exceed that of the Nephites, because of their firmness and their steadiness in the faith.
2 For behold, there were many of the Nephites who had become hardened and impenitent and grossly wicked, insomuch that they did reject the word of God and all the preaching and prophesying which did come among them.
3 Nevertheless, the people of the church did have great joy because of the conversion of the Lamanites, yea, because of the church of God, which had been established among them. And they did fellowship one with another, and did rejoice one with another, and did have great joy.
4 And it came to pass that many of the Lamanites did come down into the land of Zarahemla, and did declare unto the people of the Nephites the manner of their conversion, and did exhort them to faith and repentance.
5 Yea, and many did preach with exceedingly great power and authority, unto the bringing down many of them into the depths of humility, to be the humble followers of God and the Lamb.
6 And it came to pass that many of the Lamanites did go into the land northward; and also Nephi and Lehi went into the land northward, to preach unto the people. And thus ended the sixty and third year.
7 And behold, there was peace in all the land, insomuch that the Nephites did go into whatsoever part of the land they would, whether among the Nephites or the Lamanites.
8 And it came to pass that the Lamanites did also go whithersoever they would, whether it were among the Lamanites or among the Nephites; and thus they did have free intercourse one with another, to buy and to sell, and to get gain, according to their desire.
9 And it came to pass that they became exceedingly rich, both the Lamanites and the Nephites; and they did have an exceeding plenty of gold, and of silver, and of all manner of precious metals, both in the land south and in the land north.
10 Now the land south was called Lehi and the land north was called Mulek, which was after the son of Zedekiah; for the Lord did bring Mulek into the land north, and Lehi into the land south.
11 And behold, there was all manner of gold in both these lands, and of silver, and of precious ore of every kind; and there were also curious workmen, who did work all kinds of ore and did refine it; and thus they did become rich.
12 They did raise grain in abundance, both in the north and in the south; and they did flourish exceedingly, both in the north and in the south. And they did multiply and wax exceedingly strong in the land. And they did raise many flocks and herds, yea, many fatlings.
13 Behold their women did toil and spin, and did make all manner of cloth, of fine-twined linen and cloth of every kind, to clothe their nakedness. And thus the sixty and fourth year did pass away in peace.
14 And in the sixty and fifth year they did also have great joy and peace, yea, much preaching and many prophecies concerning that which was to come. And thus passed away the sixty and fifth year.
15 And it came to pass that in the sixty and sixth year of the reign of the judges, behold, Cezoram was murdered by an unknown hand as he sat upon the judgment–seat. And it came to pass that in the same year, that his son, who had been appointed by the people in his stead, was also murdered. And thus ended the sixty and sixth year.
16 And in the commencement of the sixty and seventh year the people began to grow exceedingly wicked again.
17 For behold, the Lord had blessed them so long with the riches of the world that they had not been stirred up to anger, to wars, nor to bloodshed; therefore they began to set their hearts upon their riches; yea, they began to seek to get gain that they might be lifted up one above another; therefore they began to commit secret murders, and to rob and to plunder, that they might get gain.
18 And now behold, those murderers and plunderers were a band who had been formed by Kishkumen and Gadianton. And now it had come to pass that there were many, even among the Nephites, of Gadianton's band. But behold, they were more numerous among the more wicked part of the Lamanites. And they were called Gadianton's robbers and murderers.
19 And it was they who did murder the chief judge Cezoram, and his son, while in the judgment–seat; and behold, they were not found.
20 And now it came to pass that when the Lamanites found that there were robbers among them they were exceedingly sorrowful; and they did use every means in their power to destroy them off the face of the earth.
21 But behold, Satan did stir up the hearts of the more part of the Nephites, insomuch that they did unite with those bands of robbers, and did enter into their covenants and their oaths, that they would protect and preserve one another in whatsoever difficult circumstances they should be placed, that they should not suffer for their murders, and their plunderings, and their stealings.
22 And it came to pass that they did have their signs, yea, their secret signs, and their secret words; and this that they might distinguish a brother who had entered into the covenant, that whatsoever wickedness his brother should do he should not be injured by his brother, nor by those who did belong to his band, who had taken this covenant.
23 And thus they might murder, and plunder, and steal, and commit whoredoms and all manner of wickedness, contrary to the laws of their country and also the laws of their God.
24 And whosoever of those who belonged to their band should reveal unto the world of their wickedness and their abominations, should be tried, not according to the laws of their country, but according to the laws of their wickedness, which had been given by Gadianton and Kishkumen.
25 Now behold, it is these secret oaths and covenants which Alma commanded his son should not go forth unto the world, lest they should be a means of bringing down the people unto destruction.
26 Now behold, those secret oaths and covenants did not come forth unto Gadianton from the records which were delivered unto Helaman; but behold, they were put into the heart of Gadianton by that same being who did entice our first parents to partake of the forbidden fruit—
27 Yea, that same being who did plot with Cain, that if he would murder his brother Abel it should not be known unto the world. And he did plot with Cain and his followers from that time forth.
28 And also it is that same being who put it into the hearts of the people to build a tower sufficiently high that they might get to heaven. And it was that same being who led on the people who came from that tower into this land; who spread the works of darkness and abominations over all the face of the land, until he dragged the people down to an entire destruction, and to an everlasting hell.
29 Yea, it is that same being who put it into the heart of Gadianton to still carry on the work of darkness, and of secret murder; and he has brought it forth from the beginning of man even down to this time.
30 And behold, it is he who is the author of all sin. And behold, he doth carry on his works of darkness and secret murder, and doth hand down their plots, and their oaths, and their covenants, and their plans of awful wickedness, from generation to generation according as he can get hold upon the hearts of the children of men.
31 And now behold, he had got great hold upon the hearts of the Nephites; yea, insomuch that they had become exceedingly wicked; yea, the more part of them had turned out of the way of righteousness, and did trample under their feet the commandments of God, and did turn unto their own ways, and did build up unto themselves idols of their gold and their silver.
32 And it came to pass that all these iniquities did come unto them in the space of not many years, insomuch that a more part of it had come unto them in the sixty and seventh year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.
33 And they did grow in their iniquities in the sixty and eighth year also, to the great sorrow and lamentation of the righteous.
34 And thus we see that the Nephites did begin to dwindle in unbelief, and grow in wickedness and abominations, while the Lamanites began to grow exceedingly in the knowledge of their God; yea, they did begin to keep his statutes and commandments, and to walk in truth and uprightness before him.
35 And thus we see that the Spirit of the Lord began to withdraw from the Nephites, because of the wickedness and the hardness of their hearts.
36 And thus we see that the Lord began to pour out his Spirit upon the Lamanites, because of their easiness and willingness to believe in his words.
37 And it came to pass that the Lamanites did hunt the band of robbers of Gadianton; and they did preach the word of God among the more wicked part of them, insomuch that this band of robbers was utterly destroyed from among the Lamanites.
38 And it came to pass on the other hand, that the Nephites did build them up and support them, beginning at the more wicked part of them, until they had overspread all the land of the Nephites, and had seduced the more part of the righteous until they had come down to believe in their works and partake of their spoils, and to join with them in their secret murders and combinations.
39 And thus they did obtain the sole management of the government, insomuch that they did trample under their feet and smite and rend and turn their backs upon the poor and the meek, and the humble followers of God.
40 And thus we see that they were in an awful state, and ripening for an everlasting destruction.
41 And it came to pass that thus ended the sixty and eighth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.6
Let us hope and pray for a repeat of verse 37, because verses 38-40 seem so unalterable?

What is Consciousness?

Have we noticed how many physicists are talking about consciousness?1 They don't all agree on its definition, but its best description was perhaps recorded in Ohio in 1833, being:
“knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come.”2
These words were actually recorded as a description for truth, but what better definition of consciousness than to be increasing in awareness of what is true? And that is the tricky part: discovering, deciphering, discerning what is true, the difficulty of which is frankly acknowledged in the very next sentence that follows truth:
And whatsoever is more or less than this [i.e., things as they are, as they were, as they are to come] is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning.3
So does this mean that in any given moment, we are either in a state of consciousness or in a state of deception? I suspect so. I also suspect (for those who seek the first state as opposed to the second) that the rest of the abbreviated text that surrounds this pithy description may contain more truth than most of us are prepared for or are willing to understand.4

So, is there any safe place to find truth? books? observation? experience? archives? artifacts? records? journals? science experiments? eye-witnesses? psychedelics? revelation? scripture? It seems obvious that not one of these is foolproof. Not just because we all have our own over- and under-lays of bias, opinion, interpretation, emotional investment, imprinting, indoctrination, faith, belief, etc., etc., but because in this fallen world, that “liar from the beginning” is and has been at work seeking to destroy the Plan and the souls of men. Distortion, co-opting, the turning of things upside down are just a few of the nefarious tools applied in the desolation agenda.

Here one can see my own over- and under-lays — my attempt at finding a “truth” place by running everything I can through the prism of scripture. But since I also believe that even scripture has not escaped the insertions and redactions5 of the “liar,” I try to sense / discern what feels right and cohesive (which is, of course, impacted by all those over- and under-lays). Sometimes, it feels like a no-win situation.

Nonetheless, we live in this physical world (though some dispute “physical” alleging that we live in a digital, virtual, non-matter simulation) with an urge to know what is, what was, and what is to come.

So, here are a few things to read (amongst many) from the prism of scripture that might help in knowing of things: “as they are” | “as they were” | “as they are to come.” (Suggestion: make three columns and fill them as you read. As you do, you may see the recycling, déjà vu pattern that has brought us to this day and age.)
●  Old Testament | Isaiah 59
●  New Testament JST6 | Matthew 24 | John 15 | Romans 8 | 2 Timothy 3 | Jude 1
●  Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 13, 14 | 2 Nephi 2, 9, 28-30 | Mosiah 3 | Alma 12, 32, 41 | |Helaman 12 | Ether 8
●  Doctrine and Covenants 19, 76, 88, 93
●  Pearl of Great Price | Moses 7 | Abraham 3
What if the prism of scripture (even with its and our flaws) is the testing site where we are to:
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good7?

2. Doctrine and Covenants | Section 93:24 ~ And truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come;
3. Doctrine and Covenants | Section 93:25
4. Doctrine and Covenants | Section 93:23-40 ~ Ye were also in the beginning with the Father; that which is Spirit, even the Spirit of truth; And truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come; And whatsoever is more or less than this is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning. The Spirit of truth is of God. I am the Spirit of truth, and John bore record of me, saying: He received a fulness of truth, yea, even of all truth; And no man receiveth a fulness unless he keepeth his commandments. He that keepeth his commandments receiveth truth and light, until he is glorified in truth and knoweth all things. Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be. All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence. Behold, here is the agency of man, and here is the condemnation of man; because that which was from the beginning is plainly manifest unto them, and they receive not the light. And every man whose spirit receiveth not the light is under condemnation. For man is spirit. The elements are eternal, and spirit and element, inseparably connected, receive a fulness of joy; And when separated, man cannot receive a fulness of joy. The elements are the tabernacle of God; yea, man is the tabernacle of God, even temples; and whatsoever temple is defiled, God shall destroy that temple. The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth. Light and truth forsake that evil one. Every spirit of man was innocent in the beginning; and God having redeemed man from the fall, men became again, in their infant state, innocent before God. And that wicked one cometh and taketh away light and truth, through disobedience, from the children of men, and because of the tradition of their fathers. But I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth.
5. Pearl of Great Price | Articles of Faith 1:8 ~ We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 13:24-29 ~ And the angel of the Lord said unto me: Thou hast beheld that the book proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew; and when it proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew it contained the fulness of the gospel of the Lord, of whom the twelve apostles bear record; and they bear record according to the truth which is in the Lamb of God. Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God. And after they go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of that great and abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away. And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men. Wherefore, thou seest that after the book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God. And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou seest—because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God—because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them.

7. New Testament | 1 Thessalonians 5:21
New Testament | 1 Corinthians 2:10-14 ~ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (Bold emphasis added.)

GAZlighting by Anarchists?

With the plethora of new tyrannical legislation under cover of COVID19, many are remembering and praising Ayn Rand's phantom character, John Galt. Thirty-three times in Atlas Shrugged, Rand asks the question: “Who is John Galt?” YET, it seems that, over the years, few have taken the time to reply, so I refurbish a portion of a Déjà Vu ~ Times answer1 from 2012 to remind lamenting, budding rights-activists that their “anarchist” John Galt is probably not who they think he is.

For and from the record,2 John Galt is:
the man who claims that Galt’s Gulch ... (Galt's Autonomous Zone, i.e., GAZ in latter-day parlance) has no rules (D:544) — EXCEPT the rule that there are no rules. OH, AND the rule “not to give to the world the benefit of [one’s] mind” (D:569). OH, AND since there are really no rules, there are several GAZ “directives” as in:
▪ the word “give” is forbidden in the valley (D:544)
▪ no one can leave GAZ during the month of rest from the world (D:578)
▪ no communication with the outside world is allowed while in GAZ (D:581)
▪ no disclosure of any nature or degree about GAZ to the outside world is permitted (D:615)
▪ there are to be no gifts or favors, only earnings in GAZ (D:578+; 544)
▪ no currency but Milligan mint is accepted in GAZ (D:554)
▪ one doesn’t ask for help (D:575)
▪ self-sacrifice is forbidden3 (D:769)
▪ the requirement to pursue self-interest and maximum profit prevails
▪ “there can be no collective commitments in [GAZ] and that families or relatives are not allowed to come here, unless each person takes the striker's oath by his own independent conviction.” (D:598)
▪ the law of the voluntary contract governs4 (D:810)
▪ everyone who enters GAZ takes the oath: "I swear—by my life and my love of it—that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."5 (D:557)
▪ “Nobody stays in [GAZ] except by a full, conscious choice based on a full, conscious knowledge of every fact involved in his decision. Nobody stays here by faking reality[6] in any manner whatever." (D:605)
▪ everyone MUST be a competitive, achieving person of ambition and competence
▪ violence (normally taboo) will be met with violence (no “turn the other cheek” nonsense) (D:779)
▪ there shall be no sloth7
▪ “moochers,” “looters,” “cannibals” are forbidden
▪ the support of “moochers,” “looters,” “cannibals,” is forbidden
▪ (plus how many other unexpressed expectations and directives might Galt pronounce to counter opposing expectations and beliefs of newcomers to GAZ?)
So, do we have any realists ready to move to GAZ? Or to other AZs that are cropping-up in 2020?

Just watch the attempted coverage of these “free” zones by disliked or independent media. Freedom from coercion is not the rule. The rule is replacement of abusive coercion and exclusion by one's preferred brand of coercion and exclusion. That is the reality.

So, could we term Rand's “GAZ” a form of GAZlighting of innocents who know-not the reality of human nature? Anarchy is a vacuum that fills almost instantly with tyrants. That's the reality of “mankind” and “human nature” in this fallen world. Just ask the Seattle CHAZ/CHOP innocents and “summer-of-love” mayor about co-opting and tyranny. In the beginning, all might seem calm, peaceful, respectful, inclusive, utopian, but reality soon intervenes as a new / old domination system invades the Shangri-La.8 SO

Wake Up
Governors | Mayors | theoretical Anarchists | Innocents | Citizens

Defunding / disbanding the police, even as abusive as some of them are, creates a vacuum into which bands of mercenaries will rush — mercenaries already visa-ed, prepped, weaponized, and waiting with baited breath for the order to roll-out the WO (camouflaged as World Order). And as horrific as recent events have been, they pale to what is planned unless WE, like Nineveh,9 wake up and repent.

Yes, anarchists, I think that perhaps 97% of our laws and “authorities” are unnecessary, excessive, abusive, AND often unlawful, but GAZlighting oneself and others about the benignity of “human nature”10 while also ignoring the inner and outer social half of the human quadrant of reality (vis-à-vis the inner / outer individual half) distorts the options and solutions. Let us honestly look at human nature as it really is, as it really has been, and as it will continue to be if we don't address unpleasant, galling truths about it and our delusions and obsessions with power, gain, and glory.

WO? WOE?

(as in World Order? —  as in WO-Everlasting?)

IF
How many hoops
will we tolerate?
    ● we reap what we sow;1
    ● corrupted science2 is our hope and choice for a better, safer world;
    ● addicts of power / dominators via technocracy are exacerbating crises by pushing everything and everyone to the extreme in order to implement / justify tyrannical powers;

what might be the applicable “law irrevocably decreed”3 that will eventually prevail for such abusers of power and knowledge?

Could it be that abusing masters and their willing aides enforcing egregious controls will, in the judgment, become (robotic) servants while humble servants of the people will become enlightened, salvific masters of knowledge and truth?4 that abusers will become subject to the very tyranny of “order” they sought to inflict upon others as Justice and Judgment take the bench?

Thus, it might be enlightening to take all the WOs and WOEs of scripture and read them in an expanded form of World Order and World Order Everlasting and see if there are any insights about these last days and the consequences for those who implement or choose the Domination System of World Order (WO). Here are only a few examples of the 225 occurrences of wo and woe in the Books honored by the People of the Books.5
O that ye would awake; awake from a deep sleep, yea, even from the sleep of hell, and shake off the awful chains by which ye are bound, which are the chains which bind the children of men, that they are carried away captive down to the eternal gulf of misery and WOE.6

But WO unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world. For because they are rich they despise the poor, and they persecute the meek, and their hearts are upon their treasures; wherefore, their treasure is their god. And behold, their treasure shall perish with them also.
And WO unto the deaf that will not hear; for they shall perish.
WO unto the blind that will not see; for they shall perish also.
WO unto the uncircumcised of heart, for a knowledge of their iniquities shall smite them at the last day.
WO unto the liar, for he shall be thrust down to hell.
WO unto the murderer who deliberately killeth, for he shall die.
WO unto them who commit whoredoms, for they shall be thrust down to hell.
Yea, WO unto those that worship idols, for the devil of all devils delighteth in them.
And, in fine, WO unto all those who die in their sins; for they shall return to God, and behold his face, and remain in their sins.7

Therefore, WO be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
WO be unto him that crieth: All is well!
Yea, WO be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost!
Yea, WO be unto him that saith: We have received, and we need no more!
And in fine, WO unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the rock receiveth it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembleth lest he shall fall.
WO be unto him that shall say: We have received the word of God, and we need no more of the word of God, for we have enough!
For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.
Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.
WO be unto the Gentiles, saith the Lord God of Hosts! For notwithstanding I shall lengthen out mine arm unto them from day to day, they will deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them, saith the Lord God, if they will repent and come unto me; for mine arm is lengthened out all the day long, saith the Lord God of Hosts.8
Could choosing or acquiescing to WO — the Domination System — be the second Fall — an inverse of Eden — a fall out of a state of agency into a state of domination like unto the current WO that is unfolding before our very eyes? In Eden, we fell into a state of mortal flesh and greater agency. If we insist on abusing our agency and flesh or passively acquiescing to its loss or technocratic transmutation, will we fall again — into a state of submutation — into having the gift of our greater agency removed because we cannot be trusted with it or the increasing power9 of increasing agency that comes in becoming truly human through the grace of the great human prototype, the Son of God?

Let us awaken to what the WO might mean — total control of (transmutated / submutated) humans10 as if they were programmed robots doing whatever the master demands or programs. (See how easily the initial stage was implemented in recent months / decades!)

God, Justice, Judgment, Mercy, Truth, and Divine Law intend us for more than mere robotics, if only we want that more than we want the “safety and promises” of WO. BUT if we choose robotic obedience to save us from invisible, never-ending threats prophesied (and prototyped?) by addicts of power, gain, and fame, WHY should we, in an unrepentant state,11 expect a result better than WOE pursuant to the law of the harvest?12

Therefore, my son, see that you are merciful unto your brethren; deal justly, judge righteously, and do good continually; and if ye do all these things then shall ye receive your reward; yea, ye shall have mercy restored unto you again; ye shall have justice restored unto you again; ye shall have a righteous judgment restored unto you again; and ye shall have good rewarded unto you again. For that which ye do send out shall return unto you again, and be restored; therefore, the word restoration more fully condemneth the sinner, and justifieth him not at all.

Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world. For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.

Déjà Vu — from circa BC 62?

(from the Ancient Americas)

“Stirring ourselves ... for the welfare and the freedom of this people”

This morning, I read the lament of an ancient North / South American military leader who “was angry with the government, because of their indifference concerning the freedom of their country.”1 Over the years I had read this chapter many times, but this time, it sounded current — more than an echo — more than history — more like a ringing condemnation applicable to this very hour. A resounding condemnation because so many of us seem asleep to the reality of this awful situation that we have allowed to get above us;2 asleep because so many seem blissfully content to wait for some “authority” to tell us when to be concerned — when to act;3 naïve because we let horrific local events deflect us from the global roll-out of tyranny when we should conjoin the horrific local and the horrific global in a unified, non-violent, mass rejection of the Powers and their destruction of the rights and freedoms of humanity.

If we do not know there is a murderous combination that has already destroyed thousands of lives in furthering an agenda of power and gain — a murderous combination with the intent to destroy millions, if not billions, more, and to overthrow the freedom of all peoples and all lands, then we will remain complicit, culpable sitting ducks4 — the very lamentation from BC 62.
10 And now, my beloved brethren—for ye ought to be beloved; yea, and ye ought to have stirred yourselves more diligently for the welfare and the freedom of this people; but behold, ye have neglected them insomuch that the blood of thousands shall come upon your heads for vengeance; yea, for known unto God were all their cries, and all their sufferings—
11 Behold, could ye suppose that ye could sit upon your thrones, and because of the exceeding goodness of God ye could do nothing and he would deliver you? Behold, if ye have supposed this ye have supposed in vain.
12 Do ye suppose that, because so many of your brethren have been killed it is because of their wickedness? I say unto you, if ye have supposed this ye have supposed in vain; for I say unto you, there are many who have fallen by the sword; and behold it is to your condemnation;
13 For the Lord suffereth the righteous to be slain that his justice and judgment may come upon the wicked; therefore ye need not suppose that the righteous are lost because they are slain; but behold, they do enter into the rest of the Lord their God.
14 And now behold, I say unto you, I fear exceedingly that the judgments of God will come upon this people, because of their exceeding slothfulness, yea, even the slothfulness of our government, and their exceedingly great neglect towards their brethren, yea, towards those who have been slain.
15 For were it not for the wickedness which first commenced at our head, we could have withstood our enemies that they could have gained no power over us.
16 Yea, had it not been for the war which broke out among ourselves; yea, were it not for these king–men, who caused so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, at the time we were contending among ourselves, if we had united our strength as we hitherto have done; yea, had it not been for the desire of power and authority which those king–men had over us; had they been true to the cause of our freedom, and united with us, and gone forth against our enemies, instead of taking up their swords against us, which was the cause of so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, if we had gone forth against them in the strength of the Lord, we should have dispersed our enemies, for it would have been done, according to the fulfilling of his word.
17 But behold, now the Lamanites are coming upon us, taking possession of our lands, and they are murdering our people with the sword, yea, our women and our children, and also carrying them away captive, causing them that they should suffer all manner of afflictions, and this because of the great wickedness of those who are seeking for power and authority, yea, even those king–men.
18 But why should I say much concerning this matter? For we know not but what ye yourselves are seeking for authority. We know not but what ye are also traitors to your country.
19 Or is it that ye have neglected us because ye are in the heart of our country and ye are surrounded by security, that ye do not cause food to be sent unto us, and also men to strengthen our armies?
20 Have ye forgotten the commandments of the Lord your God? Yea, have ye forgotten the captivity of our fathers? Have ye forgotten the many times we have been delivered out of the hands of our enemies?
21 Or do ye suppose that the Lord will still deliver us, while we sit upon our thrones and do not make use of the means which the Lord has provided for us?
22 Yea, will ye sit in idleness while ye are surrounded with thousands of those, yea, and tens of thousands, who do also sit in idleness, while there are thousands round about in the borders of the land who are falling by the sword, yea, wounded and bleeding?
23 Do ye suppose that God will look upon you as guiltless while ye sit still and behold these things? Behold I say unto you, Nay. Now I would that ye should remember that God has said that the inward vessel shall be cleansed first, and then shall the outer vessel be cleansed also.
24 And now, except ye do repent of that which ye have done, and begin to be up and doing, and send forth food and men unto us, and also unto Helaman, that he may support those parts of our country which he has regained, and that we may also recover the remainder of our possessions in these parts, behold it will be expedient that we contend no more with the Lamanites until we have first cleansed our inward vessel, yea, even the great head of our government.
25 And except ye grant mine epistle, and come out and show unto me a true spirit of freedom, and strive to strengthen and fortify our armies, and grant unto them food for their support, behold I will leave a part of my freemen to maintain this part of our land, and I will leave the strength and the blessings of God upon them, that none other power can operate against them—
26 And this because of their exceeding faith, and their patience in their tribulations—
27 And I will come unto you, and if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority shall become extinct.
28 Yea, behold I do not fear your power nor your authority, but it is my God whom I fear; and it is according to his commandments that I do take my sword to defend the cause of my country, and it is because of your iniquity that we have suffered so much loss.
29 Behold it is time, yea, the time is now at hand, that except ye do bestir yourselves in the defence of your country and your little ones, the sword of justice doth hang over you; yea, and it shall fall upon you and visit you even to your utter destruction.
30 Behold, I wait for assistance from you; and, except ye do administer unto our relief, behold, I come unto you, even in the land of Zarahemla, and smite you with the sword, insomuch that ye can have no more power to impede the progress of this people in the cause of our freedom.
31 For behold, the Lord will not suffer that ye shall live and wax strong in your iniquities to destroy his righteous people.
32 Behold, can you suppose that the Lord will spare you and come out in judgment against the Lamanites, when it is the tradition of their fathers that has caused their hatred, yea, and it has been redoubled by those who have dissented from us, while your iniquity is for the cause of your love of glory and the vain things of the world?
33 Ye know that ye do transgress the laws of God, and ye do know that ye do trample them under your feet. Behold, the Lord saith unto me: If those whom ye have appointed your governors do not repent of their sins and iniquities, ye shall go up to battle against them.
34 And now behold, I, Moroni, am constrained, according to the covenant which I have made to keep the commandments of my God; therefore I would that ye should adhere to the word of God, and send speedily unto me of your provisions and of your men, and also to Helaman.
35 And behold, if ye will not do this I come unto you speedily; for behold, God will not suffer that we should perish with hunger; therefore he will give unto us of your food, even if it must be by the sword. Now see that ye fulfil the word of God.
36 Behold, I am Moroni, your chief captain. I seek not for power, but to pull it down. I seek not for honor of the world, but for the glory of my God, and the freedom and welfare of my country. And thus I close mine epistle.5
Yes, Moroni misread the supposed inaction of the Governor Pahoran, not knowing that treasonous insiders were trying to overthrow Pahoran's rule, thus consuming all his energy and resources. So, yes inaction was not Pahoran's sin, but what of us? Perhaps Moroni's words are meant for US.

Book of Mormon | Ether 8:22–24 ~ And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not. Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be. Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.

Smith rose, read the 14th Chap. of Ezekiel— said the Lord had declar’d by the prophet that the people should each one stand for himself and depend on no man or men in that state of corruption of the Jewish church— that righteous persons could only deliver their own souls— app[l]ied it to the present state of the church of Latter-Day Saints— said if the people departed from the Lord, they must fall— that they were depending on the prophet hence were darkened in their minds from neglect of themselves— envious toward the innocent, while they afflict the virtuous with their shafts of envy. Some day, We the People will be forced to acknowledge how much death and dying has been orchestrated in secret chambers for decades — death and dying, abuse and torture, pain and suffering that we refused to see despite the myriad witnesses, thus a few more words to ponder about inaction from Moroni's epistle:
6 And now behold, we desire to know the cause of this exceedingly great neglect; yea, we desire to know the cause of your thoughtless state.
7 Can you think to sit upon your thrones in a state of thoughtless stupor, while your enemies are spreading the work of death around you? Yea, while they are murdering thousands of your brethren—
8 Yea, even they who have looked up to you for protection, yea, have placed you in a situation that ye might have succored them, yea, ye might have sent armies unto them, to have strengthened them, and have saved thousands of them from falling by the sword. (Book of Mormon | Alma 60:6-8)

Déjà Vu ~ from circa BC 72?

(from Ancient America)

Power-Plays: On & On & On

As we read below, can we see latter-day parallels? Could we substitute:
Nephites = those of every nation, kindred, tongue, religion, race, and people who (when not distracted*) believe in / advocate for / defend human rights and freedoms?
Amalekites / Zoramites = the leaders, alleged elites, supporters, and sustainers of corrupted science and government for the purpose of pursuing and protecting power, gain, and glory?

Lamanites = the distracted* population of every nation, kindred, tongue, religion, race, and people (including Nephite dissenters) whom the alleged leaders and elites seek to deceive, blind, stir up, control, and manipulate into supporting and carrying out their (oft-concealed) agendas for pursuing and protecting power, gain, and glory?
Church = the foundation of liberty?
Read On ~ BC 72:
5 And it came to pass that ... a man by the name of Zerahemnah was their leader.
6 And now, as the Amalekites were of a more wicked and murderous disposition than the Lamanites were, in and of themselves, therefore, Zerahemnah appointed chief captains over the Lamanites, and they were all Amalekites and Zoramites.
7 Now this he did that he might preserve their hatred towards the Nephites, that he might bring them into subjection to the accomplishment of his designs.
8 For behold, his designs were to stir up the Lamanites to anger against the Nephites; this he did that he might usurp great power over them, and also that he might gain power over the Nephites by bringing them into bondage.
9 And now the design of the Nephites was to support their lands, and their houses, and their wives, and their children, that they might preserve them from the hands of their enemies; and also that they might preserve their rights and their privileges, yea, and also their liberty, that they might worship God according to their desires.
10 For they knew that if they should fall into the hands of the [Amalekites / Zoramites /] Lamanites, that whosoever should worship God in spirit and in truth, the true and the living God, the [Amalekites / Zoramites /] Lamanites would destroy.1

3 Now the leader of those who were wroth against their brethren was a large and a strong man; and his name was Amalickiah.
4 And Amalickiah was desirous to be a king; and those people who were wroth were also desirous that he should be their king; and they were the greater part of them the lower judges of the land, and they were seeking for power.
5 And they had been led by the flatteries of Amalickiah, that if they would support him and establish him to be their king that he would make them rulers over the people.
6 Thus they were led away by Amalickiah to dissensions, notwithstanding the preaching of Helaman and his brethren, yea, notwithstanding their exceedingly great care over the church, for they were high priests over the church.
7 And there were many in the church who believed in the flattering word of Amalickiah, therefore they dissented even from the church; and thus were the affairs of the people of Nephi exceedingly precarious and dangerous, notwithstanding their great victory which they had had over the [Amalekites / Zoramites /] Lamanites, and their great rejoicings which they had had because of their deliverance by the hand of the Lord.
8 Thus we see how quick the children of men do forget the Lord their God, yea, how quick to do iniquity, and to be led away by the evil one.
9 Yea, and we also see the great wickedness one very wicked man can cause to take place among the children of men.
10 Yea, we see that Amalickiah, because he was a man of cunning device and a man of many flattering words, that he led away the hearts of many people to do wickedly; yea, and to seek to destroy the church of God, and to destroy the foundation of liberty which God had granted unto them, or which blessing God had sent upon the face of the land for the righteous' sake.2

1.AND now it came to pass that, as soon as Amalickiah had obtained the kingdom he began to inspire the hearts of the Lamanites against the people of Nephi; yea, he did appoint men to speak unto the Lamanites from their towers, against the Nephites.
2 And thus he did inspire their hearts against the Nephites, insomuch that in the latter end of the nineteenth year of the reign of the judges, he having accomplished his designs thus far, yea, having been made king over the Lamanites, he sought also to reign over all the land, yea, and all the people who were in the land, the Nephites as well as the Lamanites.
3 Therefore he had accomplished his design, for he had hardened the hearts of the Lamanites and blinded their minds, and stirred them up to anger, insomuch that he had gathered together a numerous host to go to battle against the Nephites.
4 For he was determined, because of the greatness of the number of his people, to overpower the Nephites and to bring them into bondage.
5 And thus he did appoint chief captains of the Zoramites, they being the most acquainted with the strength of the Nephites, and their places of resort, and the weakest parts of their cities; therefore he appointed them to be chief captains over his armies.3
The above accounts detail only two of the many power-wars profiled in the ancient North / South American record. As for us, WE are now in the midst of the most egregious, murderous power-play in history.

It Is Not Lawful

Human beings are social creatures. We need to live in relationships with each other. ... in fact, it is essential to our fullest well-being. ... being known and loved and knowing and loving others are what human beings were made for ... 1
So, what if the alleged risk to people in this crisis pales in comparison to the damage being done by the lock-down and the fearful, distrusting, social isolation? Consider three celebrity doctors, Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, who spoke passionately about the devastating consequences of the so-called New Normal.2 Then consider the power of the Powers as you listen to their subsequent apologies as they contradict their knowledge, training, expertise, and passion:

TV DOCS OWNED BY PHARMA? (The HighWire with Del Bigtree | May 1, 2020 | Time 9:34) at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5L-kfn1BGM
In short, we are being told that the normal human life of close associations; hugs; joyful reunions; family feasts; large weddings & funerals; church meetings & gatherings; choir practices; lecture halls; class rooms; playgrounds; parades; social hours; dance clubs; office parties; summer camps; grad gatherings; concert, theater, & sports crowds; etc., etc., etc., have now become unlawful UNLESS the authorities regulate and approve. Suddenly, it seems that much of what we associate with being human has become unlawful.

So what does one do when “It is not lawful”?
AT that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?3

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.4

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.5

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed [in contravention of the law], and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.6

And [the masters of Lydia] brought [Paul and Silas] to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.7
Perhaps we need to practice Civil Disobedience when the Powers become uncivil; honor only that which is honorable; refuse to be one of Stanley Milgram's SHOCKING 65%.8

Yes, there is risk to acting with courage: risk that we will be targeted by the Powers; risk that their technology and bio-weapons will be used against us and our loved ones; risk that things might get worse as the Powers fight to retain their power, position, and prospects. And yes, this same question rings out in every nation: “What will become of me, if I leave their employ?” Perhaps the more pressing question is: What will become of this world, of human rights, of my fellow creatures, if I do not leave their employ? In the end, leaving might be a matter of life, even in death. But what is the alternative if the choice is for freedom and future?
