What is Consciousness?

Have we noticed how many physicists are talking about consciousness?¹ They don't all agree on its definition, but its best description was perhaps recorded in Ohio in 1833, being:

“knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come.”²

These words were actually recorded as a description for truth, but what better definition of consciousness than to be increasing in awareness of what is true? And that is the tricky part: discovering, deciphering, discerning what is true, the difficulty of which is frankly acknowledged in the very next sentence that follows truth:

And whatsoever is more or less than this [i.e., things as they are, as they were, as they are to come] is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning.³

So does this mean that in any given moment, we are either in a state of consciousness or in a state of deception​? I suspect so. I also suspect (for those who seek the first state as opposed to the second) that the rest of the abbreviated text that surrounds this pithy description may contain more truth than most of us are prepared for or are willing to understand.⁴

So, is there any safe place to find truth? books? observation? experience? archives? artifacts? records? journals? science experiments? eye-witnesses? psychedelics? revelation? scripture? It seems obvious that not one of these is foolproof. Not just because we all have our own over- and under-lays of bias, opinion, interpretation, emotional investment, imprinting, indoctrination, faith, belief, etc., etc., but because in this fallen world, that “liar from the beginning” is and has been at work seeking to destroy the Plan and the souls of men. Distortion, co-opting, the turning of things upside down are just a few of the nefarious tools applied in the desolation agenda.

Here one can see my own over- and under-lays — my attempt at finding a “truth” place by running everything I can through the prism of scripture. But since I also believe that even scripture has not escaped the insertions and redactions⁵ of the “liar,” I try to sense / discern what feels right and cohesive (which is, of course, impacted by all those over- and under-lays). Sometimes, it feels like a no-win situation.

Nonetheless, we live in this physical world (though some dispute “physical” alleging that we live in a digital, virtual, non-matter simulation) with an urge to know what is, what was, and what is to come.

So, here are a few things to read (amongst many) from the prism of scripture that might help in knowing of things: “as they are” | “as they were” | “as they are to come.” (Suggestion: make three columns and fill them as you read. As you do, you may see the recycling, déjà vu pattern that has brought us to this day and age.)

GAZlighting by Anarchists?

With the plethora of new tyrannical legislation under cover of COVID19, many are remembering and praising Ayn Rand's phantom character, John Galt. Thirty-three times in Atlas Shrugged, Rand asks the question: “Who is John Galt?” YET, it seems that, over the years, few have taken the time to reply, so I refurbish a portion of a Déjà Vu ~ Times answer¹ from 2012 to remind lamenting, budding rights-activists that their “anarchist” John Galt is probably not who they think he is.

For and from the record,² John Galt is:

the man who claims that Galt’s Gulch ... (Galt's Autonomous Zone, i.e., GAZ in latter-day parlance) has no rules (D:544) — EXCEPT the rule that there are no rules. OH, AND the rule “not to give to the world the benefit of [one’s] mind” (D:569). OH, AND since there are really no rules, there are several GAZ “directives” as in:

▪ the word “give” is forbidden in the valley (D:544)
▪ no one can leave GAZ during the month of rest from the world (D:578)
▪ no communication with the outside world is allowed while in GAZ (D:581)
▪ no disclosure of any nature or degree about GAZ to the outside world is permitted (D:615)
▪ there are to be no gifts or favors, only earnings in GAZ (D:578+; 544)
▪ no currency but Milligan mint is accepted in GAZ (D:554)
▪ one doesn’t ask for help (D:575)
▪ self-sacrifice is forbidden³ (D:769)
▪ the requirement to pursue self-interest and maximum profit prevails
▪ “there can be no collective commitments in [GAZ] and that families or relatives are not allowed to come here, unless each person takes the striker's oath by his own independent conviction.” (D:598)
▪ the law of the voluntary contract governs⁴ (D:810)
▪ everyone who enters GAZ takes the oath: "I swear—by my life and my love of it—that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."⁵ (D:557)
▪ “Nobody stays in [GAZ] except by a full, conscious choice based on a full, conscious knowledge of every fact involved in his decision. Nobody stays here by faking reality^[6] in any manner whatever." (D:605)
▪ everyone MUST be a competitive, achieving person of ambition and competence
▪ violence (normally taboo) will be met with violence (no “turn the other cheek” nonsense) (D:779)
▪ there shall be no sloth⁷
▪ “moochers,” “looters,” “cannibals” are forbidden
▪ the support of “moochers,” “looters,” “cannibals,” is forbidden
▪ (plus how many other unexpressed expectations and directives might Galt pronounce to counter opposing expectations and beliefs of newcomers to GAZ?)

So, do we have any realists ready to move to GAZ? Or to other AZs that are cropping-up in 2020?

Just watch the attempted coverage of these “free” zones by disliked or independent media. Freedom from coercion is not the rule. The rule is replacement of abusive coercion and exclusion by one's preferred brand of coercion and exclusion. That is the reality.

So, could we term Rand's “GAZ” a form of GAZlighting of innocents who know-not the reality of human nature? Anarchy is a vacuum that fills almost instantly with tyrants. That's the reality of “mankind” and “human nature” in this fallen world. Just ask the Seattle CHAZ/CHOP innocents and “summer-of-love” mayor about co-opting and tyranny. In the beginning, all might seem calm, peaceful, respectful, inclusive, utopian, but reality soon intervenes as a new / old domination system invades the Shangri-La.⁸ SO

Defunding / disbanding the police, even as abusive as some of them are, creates a vacuum into which bands of mercenaries will rush — mercenaries already visa-ed, prepped, weaponized, and waiting with baited breath for the order to roll-out the WO (camouflaged as World Order). And as horrific as recent events have been, they pale to what is planned unless WE, like Nineveh,⁹ wake up and repent.

Yes, anarchists, I think that perhaps 97% of our laws and “authorities” are unnecessary, excessive, abusive, AND often unlawful, but GAZlighting oneself and others about the benignity of “human nature”¹⁰ while also ignoring the inner and outer social half of the human quadrant of reality (vis-à-vis the inner / outer individual half) distorts the options and solutions. Let us honestly look at human nature as it really is, as it really has been, and as it will continue to be if we don't address unpleasant, galling truths about it and our delusions and obsessions with power, gain, and glory.

what might be the applicable “law irrevocably decreed”³ that will eventually prevail for such abusers of power and knowledge?

Could it be that abusing masters and their willing aides enforcing egregious controls will, in the judgment, become (robotic) servants while humble servants of the people will become enlightened, salvific masters of knowledge and truth?⁴ that abusers will become subject to the very tyranny of “order” they sought to inflict upon others as Justice and Judgment take the bench?

Thus, it might be enlightening to take all the WOs and WOEs of scripture and read them in an expanded form of World Order and World Order Everlasting and see if there are any insights about these last days and the consequences for those who implement or choose the Domination System of World Order (WO). Here are only a few examples of the 225 occurrences of wo and woe in the Books honored by the People of the Books.⁵

O that ye would awake; awake from a deep sleep, yea, even from the sleep of hell, and shake off the awful chains by which ye are bound, which are the chains which bind the children of men, that they are carried away captive down to the eternal gulf of misery and WOE.⁶

Could choosing or acquiescing to WO — the Domination System — be the second Fall — an inverse of Eden — a fall out of a state of agency into a state of domination like unto the current WO that is unfolding before our very eyes? In Eden, we fell into a state of mortal flesh and greater agency. If we insist on abusing our agency and flesh or passively acquiescing to its loss or technocratic transmutation, will we fall again — into a state of submutation — into having the gift of our greater agency removed because we cannot be trusted with it or the increasing power⁹ of increasing agency that comes in becoming truly human through the grace of the great human prototype, the Son of God?

Let us awaken to what the WO might mean — total control of (transmutated / submutated) humans¹⁰ as if they were programmed robots doing whatever the master demands or programs. (See how easily the initial stage was implemented in recent months / decades!)

God, Justice, Judgment, Mercy, Truth, and Divine Law intend us for more than mere robotics, if only we want that more than we want the “safety and promises” of WO. BUT if we choose robotic obedience to save us from invisible, never-ending threats prophesied (and prototyped?) by addicts of power, gain, and fame, WHY should we, in an unrepentant state,¹¹ expect a result better than WOE pursuant to the law of the harvest?¹²

“Stirring ourselves ... for the welfare and the freedom of this people”

This morning, I read the lament of an ancient North / South American military leader who “was angry with the government, because of their indifference concerning the freedom of their country.”¹ Over the years I had read this chapter many times, but this time, it sounded current — more than an echo — more than history — more like a ringing condemnation applicable to this very hour. A resounding condemnation because so many of us seem asleep to the reality of this awful situation that we have allowed to get above us;² asleep because so many seem blissfully content to wait for some “authority” to tell us when to be concerned — when to act;³ naïve because we let horrific local events deflect us from the global roll-out of tyranny when we should conjoin the horrific local and the horrific global in a unified, non-violent, mass rejection of the Powers and their destruction of the rights and freedoms of humanity.

If we do not know there is a murderous combination that has already destroyed thousands of lives in furthering an agenda of power and gain — a murderous combination with the intent to destroy millions, if not billions, more, and to overthrow the freedom of all peoples and all lands, then we will remain complicit, culpable sitting ducks⁴ — the very lamentation from BC 62.

10 And now, my beloved brethren—for ye ought to be beloved; yea, and ye ought to have stirred yourselves more diligently for the welfare and the freedom of this people; but behold, ye have neglected them insomuch that the blood of thousands shall come upon your heads for vengeance; yea, for known unto God were all their cries, and all their sufferings—
11 Behold, could ye suppose that ye could sit upon your thrones, and because of the exceeding goodness of God ye could do nothing and he would deliver you? Behold, if ye have supposed this ye have supposed in vain.

18 But why should I say much concerning this matter? For we know not but what ye yourselves are seeking for authority. We know not but what ye are also traitors to your country.
19 Or is it that ye have neglected us because ye are in the heart of our country and ye are surrounded by security, that ye do not cause food to be sent unto us, and also men to strengthen our armies?
20 Have ye forgotten the commandments of the Lord your God? Yea, have ye forgotten the captivity of our fathers? Have ye forgotten the many times we have been delivered out of the hands of our enemies?
21 Or do ye suppose that the Lord will still deliver us, while we sit upon our thrones and do not make use of the means which the Lord has provided for us?
22 Yea, will ye sit in idleness while ye are surrounded with thousands of those, yea, and tens of thousands, who do also sit in idleness, while there are thousands round about in the borders of the land who are falling by the sword, yea, wounded and bleeding?
23 Do ye suppose that God will look upon you as guiltless while ye sit still and behold these things? Behold I say unto you, Nay. Now I would that ye should remember that God has said that the inward vessel shall be cleansed first, and then shall the outer vessel be cleansed also.
24 And now, except ye do repent of that which ye have done, and begin to be up and doing, and send forth food and men unto us, and also unto Helaman, that he may support those parts of our country which he has regained, and that we may also recover the remainder of our possessions in these parts, behold it will be expedient that we contend no more with the Lamanites until we have first cleansed our inward vessel, yea, even the great head of our government.
25 And except ye grant mine epistle, and come out and show unto me a true spirit of freedom, and strive to strengthen and fortify our armies, and grant unto them food for their support, behold I will leave a part of my freemen to maintain this part of our land, and I will leave the strength and the blessings of God upon them, that none other power can operate against them—
26 And this because of their exceeding faith, and their patience in their tribulations—
27 And I will come unto you, and if there be any among you that has a desire for freedom, yea, if there be even a spark of freedom remaining, behold I will stir up insurrections among you, even until those who have desires to usurp power and authority shall become extinct.
28 Yea, behold I do not fear your power nor your authority, but it is my God whom I fear; and it is according to his commandments that I do take my sword to defend the cause of my country, and it is because of your iniquity that we have suffered so much loss.

Yes, Moroni misread the supposed inaction of the Governor Pahoran, not knowing that treasonous insiders were trying to overthrow Pahoran's rule, thus consuming all his energy and resources. So, yes inaction was not Pahoran's sin, but what of us? Perhaps Moroni's words are meant for US.

As we read below, can we see latter-day parallels? Could we substitute:

Nephites = those of every nation, kindred, tongue, religion, race, and people who (when not distracted*) believe in / advocate for / defend human rights and freedoms?
Amalekites / Zoramites = the leaders, alleged elites, supporters, and sustainers of corrupted science and government for the purpose of pursuing and protecting power, gain, and glory?
Lamanites = the distracted* population of every nation, kindred, tongue, religion, race, and people (including Nephite dissenters) whom the alleged leaders and elites seek to deceive, blind, stir up, control, and manipulate into supporting and carrying out their (oft-concealed) agendas for pursuing and protecting power, gain, and glory?
Church = the foundation of liberty?

The above accounts detail only two of the many power-wars profiled in the ancient North / South American record. As for us, WE are now in the midst of the most egregious, murderous power-play in history.

It Is Not Lawful

Human beings are social creatures. We need to live in relationships with each other. ... in fact, it is essential to our fullest well-being. ... being known and loved and knowing and loving others are what human beings were made for ... ¹

So, what if the alleged risk to people in this crisis pales in comparison to the damage being done by the lock-down and the fearful, distrusting, social isolation? Consider three celebrity doctors, Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, who spoke passionately about the devastating consequences of the so-called New Normal.² Then consider the power of the Powers as you listen to their subsequent apologies as they contradict their knowledge, training, expertise, and passion:

In short, we are being told that the normal human life of close associations; hugs; joyful reunions; family feasts; large weddings & funerals; church meetings & gatherings; choir practices; lecture halls; class rooms; playgrounds; parades; social hours; dance clubs; office parties; summer camps; grad gatherings; concert, theater, & sports crowds; etc., etc., etc., have now become unlawful UNLESS the authorities regulate and approve. Suddenly, it seems that much of what we associate with being human has become unlawful.

So what does one do when “It is not lawful”?

AT that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. Yes, there is risk to acting with courage: risk that we will be targeted by the Powers; risk that their technology and bio-weapons will be used against us and our loved ones; risk that things might get worse as the Powers fight to retain their power, position, and prospects. And yes, this same question rings out in every nation: “What will become of me, if I leave their employ?” Perhaps the more pressing question is: What will become of this world, of human rights, of my fellow creatures, if I do not leave their employ? In the end, leaving might be a matter of life, even in death. But what is the alternative if the choice is for freedom and future?

The End of Man?

(As God Created Them, Male & Female?)

This phrase “end of man” appears twice in scripture, coming from Lehi¹ and Nephi. Nephi uses it thus:

... And because that I [God] have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.²

Rather interesting phrasing! — “for my work is not yet finished, neither shall it be UNTIL the end of man” and then this: “neither from that time (the end of man?) henceforth and forever.”

What does this mean — the end of man?

Could it mean (in part) what we are witnessing now — transhumanism,³ transgenderism,⁴  or even more subtly, the injection of messenger RNA designed to “trick the body” into immune response behavior,⁵ AND, as some scientists warn, potentially changing the human genome henceforth and forever⁶ via irreversible integration into the cell nucleus. Of, course the vaxcine⁷ vendors deny integration, but some article writers⁸  have the courage to admit the many unknowns in the novel mRNA vaxcines. Yet, the rushed mRNA vaxcine to “end” this crisis — to achieve herd immunity via herd obedience — is being touted as a never before offered(?) messenger RNA — a “savior” vaxcine — to restore our lives, our human rights, our future.

And what are these vaxcine vendors counting on to achieve their herd obedience (and their fabulous fortunes)? Mainly, four things: 1) the nature of humans to trust in the touted knowledge and altruisms of authorities / experts; 2) on the Stanley Milgram⁹ discovery that nigh 65% of test subjects will defer to the voice of authority even when it goes against their conscience, knowledge, and human rights; 3) on coercion by authorities / experts and peers of the recalcitrant 35%; and 4) fear.

Do we recognize what is being offered here? another chance to improve on God's¹⁰ plan and performance? another bite of the apple? another innovation and promise of the Domination System?

Will we acquiesce to “the end of man” as created by God, or will we commit now to the Extreme Trust that is going to be required in coming days — a Trust that will test us to the limit? Will we render evil for the evil that has come OR will we, beyond our human nature and capacity, render good for evil, thus heaping coals of fire (read: the purging fire of awakened guilt — the forerunner of repentance and change) upon the heads of our abusers,¹¹ as happened in the account of the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi?¹²

How we will render good for the greater evil that is coming,¹³ I do not know. I know it is not in my nature because “justice” calls louder to me than mercy. But I also know that the spirit-of-power is dangerous beyond measure despite awareness.¹⁴ I know what I would like to do with abusers of power and people, if I had the power. Nothing violent, I tell myself — but how do I know what the spirit-of-power¹⁵ and situation might elicit?

In any event, it appears that “the end of man” and of this world (as God created us and it) is nigh at hand,¹⁶ YET the end is not the End, for the Work goes on “from that time [the end of man] henceforth and forever.”

Do not despair.¹⁷ The end [of man's corrupted and corrupting work] is not the End of God's Work. Our work is to be facing the right direction, walking, talking, serving, loving, forgiving, and praying.

Already, for decades, “scientists” have been experimenting with augmentation via MKUltra and similar experimentation.
