Papal Bull in a China Shop?

(“From Conflict to Communion”?*)

Nigh five hundred years ago (1517 October 31), Martin Luther posted his 95 theses1 on the cathedral door in Wittenberg, Germany. How many of us know that in recent years, an ecumenical movement has (purportedly) reduced these 95 points of conflict to a single point of reconciliation?!2

Do we think this is not going to impact every soul on earth, religious or not? Do we not recognize that:
▪  history can repeat itself?
▪  prophecy is unfolding?
▪  deception is a prime factor of the last days?3
▪  an infallible church combined with state power4 is (and was) a literal Papal Bull in a china shop of fragile liberties?5
▪  we may be on the brink of a devastating déjà vu?
Are we ready to begin paying attention? Are we willing to listen to warning voices wherever they sound?6

are condemned to repeat it.7

Affirmed at the Fifth Lateran Council [1512-1517]:
“Moreover, since subjection to the Roman pontiff is necessary for salvation for all Christ's faithful, as we are taught by the testimony of both sacred scripture and the holy fathers, and as is declared by the constitution of pope Boniface VIII of happy memory, also our predecessor, which begins Unam sanctam [1302], we therefore, with the approval of the present sacred council, for the salvation of the souls of the same faithful, for the supreme authority of the Roman pontiff and of this holy see, and for the unity and power of the church, his spouse, renew and give our approval to that constitution, but without prejudice to the declaration of pope Clement V of holy memory, which begins Meruit.” (Being the last sentence of paragraph 6 under the sub head [On the abrogation of the Pragmatic Sanction] at https://www.ewtn.com/library/COUNCILS/LATERAN5.HTM
6. “We believe in all truth, no matter to what subject it may refer. No sect or religious denomination in the world possesses a single principle of truth that we do not accept or that we will reject. We are willing to receive all truth, from whatever source it may come; for truth will stand, truth will endure.” (Joseph F. Smith, Conference Reports ~ April, 1909, p. 7.)
